FOBIK — Fob with Integrated Key. Not a security system but a hardware format: a chunky fob that inserts into a dash receptacle and turns, with a mechanical emergency blade folded inside. Model-year traps inside the family

Fob part numbers for this family are widely cross-referenced, and owners often find cheaper units online. Two cautions before you buy.

First, the radio module inside any fob sold in the U.S. carries an equipment authorization identifier, and the FCC maintains the public lookup for those IDs [4].
